expert Adam J. Fein, Ph.D., as he explores hot topics in today's
healthcare supply chain. Dr. Fein will examine how the
pharmaceutical industry's evolution and healthcare reform will
affect the pharmacy channel to hospitals and alternate care sites.
Key topics will include the explosive growth of 340B discount
programs for outpatient prescriptions, the battle for specialty drugs,
strategies of wholesale suppliers, and the outlook for drug shortages.

Drug shortages are at an all-time record high across the country and
are having a significant impact on patients and healthcare providers.
This session will discuss major causes and underlying factors
contributing to the shortages and their impact on the pharmaceutical
industry. The session will also discuss how health care providers and
the industry are working together to reduce current drug shortages and
how to prevent and mitigate shortages in the future, as well as the
FDA's role in monitoring and responding to the shortages.
